Managing an Organization

As noted in Managing and Using Organization, CareTeam and Practitioner | Origin and Use of Organization , most Organization will be created and updated through import from external organisation sources.

To differentiate, Organization contains an element, synchronizationStatus, which tells whether the Organization is kept up to date. How to manage an Organization depends on the synchronizationStatus value as follows:

Creating an Organization for SSL

An Organization for a Service, Support and Logistics vendor or organisation is created through Organization Create with the following, particular values:

Remaining elements shall be set as appropriate.

Maintaining Information on Organization Manually

As Organization for SSL (see above) is not synchronized from an external source, it is obvious that such Organization must be updated manually altogether.

For the synchronized Organization types, updating an Organization manually can lead to loss on next automated update. See the table above for which Organization elements to update manually.

Manual update of Organization with source set to manual can be performed through Organization Update or Patch operations.

Manual update of Organization with source set to other than manual is restricted to Organization Patch only.
