The figure below illustrates the generic business processes supported by the eHealth Infrastructure. These processes can be used in telemedicine solutions.

Generic processes and functionalities are designed to support telemedicine solutions. They are not specific to a particular component and can be used in any number of telemedicine solutions. They are like general-purpose processes.

The main eHealth generic processes are

  • Plan Definition Management - Plan Definitions can be managed and administered by Clinical Administrators.

  • Care Plan management - Based on the Plan Definitions Care Managers can apply CarePlan to citizens and assign the Careplan to Care Team and/or clinicians.

  • Citizens can through Telemedicine Solutions submit measurements and questionnaire responses

Plan Definition Management

Role: Clinical Administrators

Activity: Create, manage, and administer plan definitions and questionnaires that serve as templates for telemedicine care plans.

Care Plan Management

Role: Care Manager

Activity:

  • Use predefined plan definitions to create individualized care plans for citizens.

  • Assign care plans to the relevant Care Team and/or clinicians for execution and oversight.

Citizen Interaction via Telemedicine Solutions

Role: Citizens

Activity:

  • Citizens submit measurements (e.g., vital signs) and questionnaire responses through telemedicine platforms.

Validation of Submitted Data

Role: Infrastructure

Activity:

  • The eHealth infrastructure validates the data submitted by citizens to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Automated Processing

After successful validation, the eHealth infrastructure performs automated processing, calculations, and triaging based on preconfigured rules and submitted measurements and responses.

Role: Infrastructure

Activity:

  • Perform automated processing of validated data, including:

    • Applying preconfigured rules.

    • Conducting calculations based on submitted information.

    • Generate outputs such as notifications, tasks, and communication for the Care Team and/or clinicians.
